XmotoCars is an independent car news and review site for people who actually care about what they drive. We cover new car reveals, electric vehicle breakthroughs, performance cars, and the technology reshaping the auto industry, without the PR spin that dominates most automotive media.

Quick answer: XmotoCars is an independent automotive news site covering new models, EVs, performance cars and car buying. Every article names its sources, and every article carries a named editor who answers email.

Who we are

XmotoCars was founded in 2024 and is run as a small independent editorial operation, not a media group. It started because too much car coverage is a press release with a new headline on it.

We are not a test fleet. We do not get handed keys to press cars, and we do not pretend otherwise. What we do is read the primary material carefully: manufacturer press kits, NHTSA recall filings, EPA figures, investor presentations and dealer order guides, then explain what the numbers actually mean for someone deciding what to buy. When a figure comes from a manufacturer or another publication, we say so and link to it.

Every article is fact-checked and signed off by a named editor before it publishes. If a headline makes a claim, the article shows where the claim came from.

Our coverage runs from a $30,000 Toyota compact pickup aimed squarely at the Ford Maverick to an 818 hp Mercedes-AMG GT2 Edition W16 that costs 679,000 euros and is limited to 30 cars. Readers include first-time buyers researching a purchase and enthusiasts who want every spec before a car reaches showrooms.

What XmotoCars covers

Our editorial focus sits across five areas:

  • Car news: reveals, spy shots, manufacturer announcements and model-year updates
  • EV news: range figures, battery technology, charging standards and the policy changes that affect what EVs cost
  • Car reviews: analysis of new models with real-world context beyond the manufacturer talking points
  • Buying guides: practical recommendations at every budget
  • Performance and motorsport: track cars, NISMO, AMG, and everything that makes a car worth talking about

We publish when a story is worth publishing rather than to a daily quota. Breaking news goes out the day it breaks.

Who writes this

Nicolas Santos, Founder and Editor

Nicolas Santos founded XmotoCars in 2024 and edits everything on it. His focus is new model launches, EV technology and the industry decisions that change what appears in showrooms, from tariff policy to plant closures.

Articles here are built from manufacturer press material, regulatory filings including NHTSA recall notices and EPA data, and reporting from established outlets, with sources named in each piece. XmotoCars does not conduct its own vehicle testing. Where a figure comes from a manufacturer or another publication, the article says so.

Our editorial standards

We report what we can verify.

  • Named sources. Every article cites a manufacturer, official filing, industry body or named publication.
  • Corrections. If we get something wrong, the correction runs at the top of the article with a note and the date. Email us the URL and the specific error.
  • No pay-to-play. We do not sell editorial coverage, sponsored reviews presented as independent, or placement in best-of lists.
  • Affiliate disclosure. Where an article includes a buying link, it is disclosed on that article. It does not change what we recommend.
  • Data sourcing. Specifications come from manufacturer press materials, EPA filings, NHTSA databases or named reporting, and we link to the source.

We welcome press releases, embargo access and manufacturer briefings. Receiving them does not guarantee coverage and does not influence the angle.

Why trust XmotoCars

There are thousands of car sites. Here is what is different about this one:

  • We are open about what we are: a small independent operation that reads primary sources carefully, not a test fleet pretending to be one
  • One named editor stands behind every article, and that editor answers email
  • We link to primary sources, NHTSA, EPA and manufacturer filings, rather than to other news sites
  • We cover cars the big publications skip, including Chinese-market models like the Changan Hunter and Geely Starray, Japanese domestic market machinery, and restomods from Lotus and NSX specialists
  • Our EV coverage carries the numbers that decide a purchase: real range ratings, charging standards, and what policy changes do to the price
